Great websites link out and don’t try to hide the fact that the web is a serious of connected entities. Making sure that we open external links in the same window instead of opening new windows and tabs actually encourages users to return to our site because they can click the back button and return more quickly.
Let me start by saying that Shopify and sIFR 3 are both great products. This is just a little heads up in case anyone comes across the same problem I had the other day.
I’m not going to get into the details about how to use sIFR, because there’s plenty of documentation out there. This ain’t no tutorial!

I’m told that this story originally comes from Art and Fear:
On opening day, the ceramics teacher announced that he would be dividing the class into two groups: group A would be graded solely on the quality of the work that they produced, while group B would be graded based on the quantity.
The teacher had planned a simple grading system: on the final day of class, he would ...
I Found this online Grid Designer tool a little while back and it has proved to be very useful for determining the grid size in layouts.

“we were more than thrilled when Dale and Michelle phoned us up…”
I first heard of Roth and Ramberg Photography around a decade ago while I was working for a local ad agency. If someone needed “the best” it was Roth and Ramberg that would get the job. Through the years, we’ve seen Dale and Michelle (he’s the Roth, she’s the Ramberg) win countless local awards and ...

I simply went into my preferences and took off the default underline. It was such a simple change but it brought such happiness I had to share it. Now I just need to write a Greesemonkey script and change the link colours as well.
A few months ago the Alberta North chapter of the GDC hosted a talk by Stefan Sagmeister. We were there. There are few photos posted on Flickr, and a short YouTube video of a similar talk a few years ago. If you’re interested, you can watch a longer video on TED.
Sagmeister’s presentation really inspired me. A large portion of it was related to a new site called ...
