Lift ranks #6 on Alberta Venture's Fast Growth 50 List 0
Says Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (German playwright, poet and novelist) of growth: ‘He who moves not forward, goes backward.’ In 2010, we did our best to operate by this simple principle, making certain that what we pursued was intentional, meaningful and focused on moving forward. So, to be ranked in the #6 spot on Alberta Venture’s 2010 Fast Growth 50 list was an extremely gratifying way to tie up a very busy, very exciting year for our company.
Alberta Venture’s 2010 FAST GROWTH 50
It was doubly rewarding to be selected as part of the Fast 50 as this will mark our second consecutive year on the list, and maintaining that momentum from one successful year to the next has not happened by chance. Moving at a steady clip, the past 12 months have been the embodiment of hard work, big changes, new challenges, and maybe even some blood, sweat and tears thrown in for good measure.
The Fast 50 are chosen on the basis of 10 different criteria, including number of employees, total assets, gross sales, marketing expenditures and R&D activities, from data drawn over a three-year timeframe. And while we are certainly pleased with the increase we’ve seen on the number-crunching side of things (revenue and assets), we are exponentially more proud of the growth the company has experienced in so many other areas.
Growing by leaps and bounds.
We grew our team and talent. We are now a team of 12, with some strategic new staff additions to help deliver services to our clients in the best way possible. The newest members of the team include developers, an account manager, a project manager and a content strategist. So much of what we were able to accomplish this year can be attributed to the hard work, passion and collaborative nature of our team. It is a highly skilled group of individuals who take pride in their work. This shows up in the amazing results they produce for our clients each and every day.
We grew our space. To help house our growing team and provide a workspace that we could call home, we took over the entire fourth floor of our building (the old Dominion Hotel on Whyte Ave) in January and a year later we’re loving the added space. Drop by for a visit (or a foosball game) sometime!
We grew our brand. We took a lot of time this year to talk through our brand. We defined our core values and the “why” behind who we are, refined our look and re-launched our site to portray a more clarified and authentic brand image.
We grew our client roster. We were fortunate to win some exciting and very rewarding new projects this year. It has been a complete pleasure to collaborate with our clients in achieving their unique online goals. We look forward to building on these relationships and forming many new ones in the next 12 months.
We are thrilled to have made the 2010 list and to be among such fantastic company with the 49 other businesses named. Looking ahead, we have nothing but the greatest of expectations for 2011. Happy New Year!
