Premium Content at a Price

Last week, Netflix was finally launched in Canada for an amazing price. With additional content from broadcasters like NBC signing some amazing deals, Netflix is going to start bringing new content weekly which has me thinking… How much would I be willing to pay for premium content?

Currently there are only a few semi new titles to stream and a very few triple A titles on Netflix. Yet since the price is right, you can’t really complain. But, what if Netflix released a premium subscription fee? Where you can start streaming newly released movies and TV shows on the day of release. How much would you be willing to pay?

Me? I think I would be willing to pay up to a realistic $29.99 for just movies, and if they were also to include TV shows. I think I would pay up to $49.99 and maybe even a tad more. The ability to watch what you want, when you want, with no commercials is definitely worth the cost of entry & I honestly think Netflix’s service is that good.

Facebook has already dabbled in premium content with gifts & games, but has recently removed gifts to “focus our product development efforts”. What if Twitter were to add a premium level to their service? Would you be willing to pay to tweet 256 characters & block advertising?

What services are you willing to pay premium content for?
